For one woman, the best alarm clock is an act of love.
A video posted to TikTok by Kristin Leite (@skinbykristin) has gone viral for revealing her morning "wife" routine—one which begins at 4 a.m. Leite, 37, spoke to Newsweek about the routine and how she feels about the mixed online reaction to her dedication. Since the video was posted on May 14, it has received two million views.
"Good morning, friends," she said in the video. "It's 4:26 AM and I'm making my husband a breakfast sandwich and his lunch. He has to be at work quite early, so we get up early and do our dog walk first thing in the morning...let me show you what I make him."

The video tracks Leite as she prepares her husband's coffee—both iced and hot— breakfast and lunch. Leite said she has been doing the 4-7 a.m. routine since the day she met her husband—and the two have been married for 13 years.
Many in the comments were confounded by the time and dedication Leite commits every single day to this routine: "Did I just watch this entire video? Yes. Do I plan on doing this for my husband. Absolutely not," one person wrote.
"The more I watched the more I realized he is not a husband but basically your child, and this is more than I would do for even my own kids," another wrote.
Leite said she understands the negative reactions—but she's never really thought about it much: "This is just how I am wired," she said. "My mom always took care of my dad and it's embedded in me. It doesn't seem foreign or odd, it's second nature. We have been married for 13 years and this is always how it has been."
'It doesn't seem odd to me at all'
Leite said her husband is a commercial diver marine superintendent, which requires long hours. Before this role, he would travel for months at a time, meaning the couple's time together was limited. Now, Leite said, she intends to cherish their life together—which includes acts of care like the one she recorded.
"We are each other priorities and best friends in life," she said. "This is how I take care of him, but I'm equally taken care of as well! I'm more than happy to get up and make the love of my life food! It doesn't seem odd to me at all."
Leite said that she never expected the video to blow up the way it did, and that the reaction seems to be 50/50.
"They either think I don't work...I'm a dummie, or they respect the fact that I love my husband and want to take care of him within the home," she said. "I work full time, but nothing fulfills me more than taking care of the people I love."
Leite acknowledged that the two had a "traditional marriage". Even so, she was resolute.
"I would not change that for the world," she said.
