A woman was left stunned after her boyfriend returned from an antiques store with a romantic surprise for their "future home."

TikTok users flooded the comments with enthusiasm over the unique item.
"The way that I just saw this and ran to check if eBay had one. They did. Life is complete...I typed in 'vintage kissing lover door knocker brass' and quite a few of them popped up!" one person wrote, advising other commenters. "I'd definitely check Poshmark, eBay, Mercari and Etsy! They have a bunch!"
Others were enchanted by the art on the knocker, along with the gentle sound it makes.
"It sounds like he's giving her little kisses," one user wrote. Another pointed out the artistic inspiration behind the design: "This is actually designed after a famous statue of Cupid and Psyche, which just makes this even sweeter."
Some TikTokers speculated on other potential origins of the knocker: "I got curious and looked it up, I think it's from the '30s and it's Romeo and Juliet. Really cool!!" one person wrote.
"I heard these make the cutest twinkling noise if you leave them by an open window at night," another suggested.
Other Amazing Secondhand Finds
This isn't the first time a secondhand treasure has made waves online.
Newsweek previously reported on several remarkable thrifting discoveries, including a $2.71 pair of vintage Chanel earrings valued at $750 and a Le Creuset casserole dish worth $300 found for just $25.
Secondhand shopping is growing in popularity. According to the 2024 Thrift Industry Report conducted by Savers Value Village, nearly one in three of the 8,912 consumers surveyed thrifted in the past year, with nearly half of thrifters belonging to Gen Z.
The excitement of finding unique or meaningful items is part of the appeal, as demonstrated by the kissing door knocker. Whether for its romantic or vintage charm, the creator's boyfriend's gift has pointed to the sentimentality of antique shopping.
