A woman who had no idea she was pregnant went into hospital thinking she had painful cramps—only to leave two days later with a newborn baby.

While many women cherish their pregnancies and vividly remember the plethora of changes their body went through, the same can’t be said for Keionna Dickerson. For nine months, she still experienced regular periods that were no different from normal, her weight didn’t change, and there was certainly no telltale pregnancy bump.

Yet, all along she was expecting.

Dickerson didn’t experience any symptoms, although she told Newsweek that she had “constant pains” in her uterus. Nonetheless, they didn’t feel too dissimilar to menstrual cramps, so she assumed that the cause.

“The bad cramps I experienced felt like period cramps and hunger pains put together,” Dickerson said. “That’s how I ended up at the hospital because I thought something was wrong with me.”

Indeed, when the pains became excruciating, Dickerson headed to the hospital to get checked out. It was beyond anything she’d ever gone through, and she couldn’t explain why she felt this way.

To her astonishment, they were no period cramps after all. She was in fact in labor.

“I went in for pain and came out the hospital two days later with a newborn,” she said.

Dickerson had to have a cesarean section ultimately as her baby’s heart rate kept dropping. Thankfully, her son, Champion, was delivered safely and is now doing well.

It was quite the turn of events for Dickerson to say the least. She had been living her life as normal for months, with no idea that her life was about to change forever.

Since welcoming her fourth child, Dickerson has taken to social media (@velvet.lover5 on TikTok) to share her shock and amazement after going through a cryptic pregnancy. Her experience has stunned the internet, with a video showing her new son Champion going viral and generating over 485,900 views and 45,800 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.

“Now that I look back at it, it was honestly so smooth had I known about it,” Dickerson told Newsweek. “I showed no symptoms, had no weight gain, still had heavy bleeding each month on my period, and I didn’t have a bump. I’m still trying to wrap my head around all this, but overall, I’m happy.”

The online response is beyond anything Dickerson expected, and Champion has already become quite the internet sensation due to his unexpected arrival.

In just a matter of days, Dickerson’s TikTok video has amassed over 380 comments. Plenty of social media users took to the comments to ask questions and learn more about what the last few months entailed.

One comment reads: “I will never be able to wrap my head around how this is possible but congratulations!”

Another TikTok user wrote: “That is so scary! Going to the hospital for stomach pain then leaving with a newborn, and you’ve not got all the stuff you need! Super mom you are!”

While another person replied: “My genuine worse fear, I’m glad everything worked out for you.”
