When Alba Morales got the call to come to the hospital, she expected to find her daughter in the second stage of labor, but she was much further along than she was letting on.

Brianna Sanchez, 22, gave her mom the surprise of a lifetime because when she arrived at the hospital, she was already a grandma.

As the third child, Sanchez told Newsweek her mom was very nervous about her giving birth, as she was the last family member to get pregnant. The reason behind the surprise, however, was much deeper.

Woman surprised at hospital

...

"My brother passed away almost two years ago, so my mom was really excited to meet my son. I thought this would be a perfect way to surprise her," the 22-year-old said.

In the clip, Morales walks in to greet her daughter in the hospital bed with an excited look on her face. The song "Found" by Zach Webb mutes the dialogue, but it looks like Morales is prompted to look to her left.

She steps back from her daughter holding the phone while it records and pulls her face mask down to reveal her shocked expression. When Sanchez tells her she actually gave birth last night, Morales breaks down in tears of relief.

"My mom was really emotional. She always says my baby is heaven sent from my brother and she was very proud that I did it without her there," Sanchez told Newsweek.

Sanchez's clip has clocked up 2 million views and hundreds of comments from other social media users congratulating the new mom on the birth of her son, Junior Allee.

Among the heartfelt messages though, many users shared that they wouldn't be able to keep their birth a secret for fear of being accused of lying to their mom.

Sanchez responded in the comments that some moms don't understand that it's not about them and the bigger picture is the new life you bring into the world.

One asked why her boyfriend, Jacob Allee, had his hands in his pants. Sanchez explained that he was trying to hide the hospital baby band so as not to give away the surprise.

"She was so happy and excited she couldn't even walk," another TikTokker commented.
