Sky-gazers at Wales's Cardiff Airport have reported new kinds of aerial visitors over the past few years: UFOs. What's more, since 2000 over 119 UFO claims have been made in Wales, from "bright objects above the sun" to bright green lights. Many a Royal Air Force base is in Wales, which could explain some of the mysterious sightings, and an earthquake and meteor have been deemed the explanation for a bizarre sighting on Berwyn Mountain back in the 1970s.

Still, Welsh politician Darren Millar, the shadow health minister, wanted some hard answers to the X-Files-esque happenings. So he asked Economy, Science and Transport Minister Edwina Hart three serious questions regarding the UFOs: one, if she'd be making a statement on the UFO sightings; two, if the Welsh government has discussed the sightings with the Ministry of Defense in the past five years; and three, if the government is keen on funding research investigating the reports.

Although it wasn't likely that he'd receive a concrete reply, Millar received something of a mind meld in return: a statement in Klingon, the language of Captain Kirk's warrior enemies in Star Trek.

The statement Miller received back read: "Jang vIDa je due luq. ach ghotavm'e' QI'yaH devolve qaS." Translated, it reads: "The minister will reply in due course. However, this is a non-devolved matter." A non-devolved matter denotes a query that can be addressed only by the U.K. Parliament, instead of just the Welsh Assembly.

This is the first time in history that Wales's government has communicated on the record in Klingon. In response to the unusual statement, Millar quipped, "I've always suspected the Labour ministers came from another planet. This response confirms it."

Ars Technica notes that Hart will likely make a response (not in *Star Trek-*speak) before the middle of the month. Until then, it appears that the truth is still out there.
