Vivek Ramaswamy has slammed Kamala Harris' campaign's jibes at JD Vance calling him "weird," saying, "This a presidential election, not a high school prom queen contest."

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Ramaswamy wrote, "This whole 'they're weird' argument from the Democrats is dumb & juvenile. This is a presidential election, not a high school prom queen contest. It's also a tad ironic coming from the party that preaches 'diversity & inclusion.' Win on policy if you can, but cut the crap please."

Since it was posted on July 29, it has received more than 6.8 million views.

Donald Trump Revels in Praise by Former Political Rivals As RNC Day 2 Wraps

On Saturday at her first campaign fundraiser as a presidential candidate, Harris told a crowd in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, "You may have noticed, Donald Trump has been resorting to some wild lies about my record, and some of what he and his running mate are saying, well, it's just plain weird."

While speaking on MSNBC, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, a reported contender to be Harris' running mate, also called Trump and Vance "weird," and posted the footage on X on July 24. The post has since accumulated more than 4.8 million views.

The Harris campaign X account published a post on July 26 saying, "JD Vance is weird and creepy." The post included a statement saying that Vance "wants to ban abortion nationwide" and is obsessed with "controlling women's personal health decisions." The post has received more than 2 million views.

Comments have recently re-emerged online about JD Vance's view that there should be a "federal response" to stop women traveling to get abortions. On July 26, the Harris campaign shared the audio clip, receiving more than 7.5 million views.

JD Vance's office has been contacted for comment by Newsweek.

Ramaswamy, a pharmaceutical entrepreneur, was a candidate in the 2024 Republican presidential primaries but withdrew from the election after the Iowa caucuses and endorsed Trump. After announcing his withdrawal, he said, "Now, going forward, he will have my full endorsement for the presidency. And I think we're going to do the right thing for this country."

Ramaswamy was thought to be a possible contender as Trump's running mate, but after it was announced that Vance would be Trump's number two, he congratulated him, telling Politico, "I want to see them succeed at a scale that not only makes the Republican Party thrive, but makes the country thrive."

Ramaswamy and Vance have known each other for a long time, dating back to their studies at Yale Law School just over a decade ago, when they were classmates, the outlet reported.

Ramaswamy has also been approached by Newsweek for comment.
