Hello, I'm Shane Croucher. Welcome to Newsweek's Bulletin. Here's what you need to know today. President Donald Trump is vowing to hit the campaign trail for Republicans as the party faces a competitive battle to maintain control of Congress in the 2026 midterms . At a White House rose garden dinner with Republican lawmakers on Wednesday, Trump said he plans to campaign in about 35 races, focusing on contests that could decide GOP control of Congress. The announcement comes as billionaire Elon Musk's super PAC, called America PAC , has begun spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in key house and senate races. The Cook Political Report currently rates six senate races as toss-ups, Alaska, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Ohio and Texas. The Netherlands has become the latest country to pull gold out of the United States in recent years. The Dutch Central Bank announced on Wednesday that it was moving 86 tons of its reserves from New York and Canada to London, citing increasing geopolitical unrest. Before the move, the Dutch bank held 31.3% of its gold in New York and 19.7% in Ottawa. Now, both hold 18.5% of the country's gold reserve. It's the second European country this year to remove its gold reserves from the United States, after France did the same in January. It's not a completely new phenomenon. In the summer of 2017, under the first Trump administration, Germany's Bunders bank completed the transfer of 300 tons of its gold from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to Frankfurt. The feminist icon Gloria Steinem has died peacefully at the age of 92. Steinem died at her home in New York City on Wednesday, surrounded by some of the many who loved her, according to a post shared on her Instagram page. No cause of death was given. Steinem was a celebrated author and activist who became one of the most visible symbols of the US women's movement, and a fierce advocate for feminist causes throughout her life. Until next time, that's all for now.
