Hello, I'm Alice Gibbs. Welcome to Newsweek's Bulletin. Here's what you need to know today. President Donald Trump has designated the Oval Office, outer Oval Office and Cabinet Room as a national monument. The move seeks to restrict substantial structural and architectural changes to some of the White House's most recognisable spaces. The proclamation , however, does not prevent future presidents from redecorating the rooms. A future president could still change furniture, artwork and other decor. Since returning to the White House for a second term, Trump has extensively redecorated the Oval Office, adding gold accents, drapes and poor traits. Democrats are preparing to ramp up congressional scrutiny of the Trump administration after sweeping both chambers in the midterm elections. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is already facing an impeachment push, and Attorney General Todd Blanche is emerging as another potential target. Hegseth could face an impeachment vote as soon as next week, with Republican Representative Thomas Massey planning to force a House vote on articles of impeachment when lawmakers return to Washington. Massey suggested President Donald Trump should replace Hegseth while he can still get the replacements confirmed in the Senate. The FBI has issued a warning over a growing wave of cyber attacks targeting industrial refrigeration systems, including those used by grocery stores and cold storage facilities. The FBI and other government agencies said malicious actors were exploiting vulnerabilities in internet-connected temperature controllers to manipulate refrigeration settings. This could potentially cause food spoilage, equipment damage and significant financial losses. The warning comes amid a wave of cyber attacks affecting supermarket refrigeration systems across Europe, where retainers have reported disruption linked to hackers with remotely altering their freezer temperatures. That's all for now. See you next time.
