President Donald Trump will soon be heading to Mar-a-Lago to celebrate the anniversary of his inauguration, and "two great Americans" will join him through sweepstakes, the GOP announced this week.

A form on the GOP's website offers people the chance to "be flown out to Palm Beach and have dinner with President Trump."

According to POLITICO, the Trump 2020 campaign sent a text message on Wednesday, writing that "two great Americans" who give at least $3 are entered in the contest to dine with the president, with "flight and hotel included." The form on the website, however, says, "No purchase, payment, or contribution necessary to enter or win." It also adds, "Contributing will not improve your chances of winning."

Contestants may use an alternative website to participate without making a contribution. The campaign accepts submissions between January 8 and January 17.

Trump's dinner sweepstakes is not the first of its kind. The GOP held a contest for another dinner with the president in Dallas last October. President Barack Obama also frequently raffled off dinners with himself and with some of his well-known supporters in order to raise money for the Democratic National Committee. In 2012, Obama held a lottery for a dinner with himself, as well as high-profile figures such as George Clooney and Barbra Streisand, The Wall Street Journal reported at the time. For just three dollars, supporters entered the contest.

The sweepstakes sometimes offer a window into an otherwise astronomically expensive event. The Obama dinner, for example, cost attendees $35,800 each. The former president hosted another dinner with Vogue's Anna Wintour and actress Sarah Jessica Parker.

The Trump team will host a different dinner on January 18 to mark the one-year anniversary of his inauguration, featuring Fox News host Jeanine Pirro.

Trump's 2020 campaign has already raised significant funding through small donations, likely to get another boost from the dinner contest. As of October, the Trump re-election campaign had raised over $36 million, according to Vox.
