Green screen has been used by professionals for years, allowing people to act in front of whatever background their imagination takes them—and this tool is now optimized for TikTok.

The platform writes in a statement: "This one of our community's most used effects on TikTok, and we're taking things to a new dimension with the introduction of green screen GIFs."

This means users can now select from a library of GIFs to apply as their background when they use the Green Screen creative effect.

TikTok has also rolled out a Visual Enhancement feature it claims will "improve exposure, low-light and color correction" all at a touch of a button.

The short video sharing platform writes: "Whether uploading from your camera roll or shooting directly from TikTok, video enhancement helps save time fine-tuning video edits before publishing."

To do so, simply record or upload your video and tap the new Enhance button on the right panel. To undo, just the enhancement, tap the Enhance button once more.

High-definition clips have now arrived on the platform and it will feature more of the quality of the material itself, as uploaded from smartphones and devices—but note this is only currently available in "select countries" outside the U.S.

TikTok writes in a statement: "One thing is crystal clear: creativity deserves high-def treatment. That's why we're rolling out the option to upload videos in up to 1080p HD.

To give your content a professional edge, record or upload the video, then on the Publishing page tap on More Options. Then Toggle on the Upload HD setting to publish the video in up to 1080p resolution.
