A grieving mom has shared heartbreaking footage of small acts of love that she said are "the only reason I’m surviving."

Alexa Wasyliw (@alexawasyliw) shared footage captured from her Ring doorbell camera in a clip on TikTok, which showed friends and family members at her front door dropping off home-cooked meals, groceries and small gifts following the loss of her baby.

"I think, when you feel so low, feeling so much love like this at this time was really giving me strength," Wasyliw told Newsweek. "Even people who reached out or sent a kind message went a long way for me."

The 32-year-old from Alberta, Canada, described these loved ones as part of her "village." She decided to share the video as part of her own healing process—and to show a side of grief people don’t often see.

Wasyliw experienced a late‑term pregnancy loss at around five months—a shock she never imagined facing. She has two healthy children and had no prior miscarriages or complications, making the experience even more devastating.

Many people, Wasyliw said, don’t realize the trauma that accompanies second‑trimester loss. Mothers must still deliver their baby, even when they know the outcome.

"That experience carries a lot of trauma, especially having to give birth knowing your baby has already passed," she said.

Wasyliw’s loss was caused by a knot in the umbilical cord. Her son was otherwise healthy, and doctors told her there was nothing that could have been done to prevent it—something she hopes other grieving mothers hear clearly.

"One of the most important things I’ve learned through this is that losses like this are not a mother’s fault," Wasyliw said. "Being able to hold our son was both the most beautiful and the most heartbreaking moment of my life."

Wasyliw’s clip has gone viral on TikTok, clocking up over 552,000 views. In the comments, users were moved to tears by what her doorbell camera had captured.

"Women will always show up. So glad you have wonderful support through this time. I'm so sorry for your loss," one user wrote.

"People don’t understand that it takes a village!" added another.

"They brought you gifts without needing your presence," a third commented with crying emoji.

Wasyliw said viewers have commented through tears and expressed awe at the support surrounding her.

"It really reiterates how lucky I am. I know I am," she said. "I have so many wonderful friends and family around me and I know not everyone gets that same love and support."
