Starbucks is rolling out a new seasonal menu update, with fresh beverages and snacks to enjoy at the coffee giant.

Global chief brand officer Tressie Lieberman said the new menu is all about innovation. “We know how to get people talking with our strong track record of culture-shaping innovation,” she said. “From seasonal lattes to Protein Cold Foam, we have consistently created platforms that redefine the industry. Innovation isn’t optional. It’s oxygen for our brand.”

How Is Starbucks Changing Its Rewards Program?

As new menu items are due to drop, Starbucks is also overhauling its loyalty program in March this year. The new system introduced a tiered structure including Green, Gold and Reserve, changing how members earn and redeem Stars. The update affects all 35.5 million active U.S. members and is designed to create clearer progression, faster Star earning and more flexible ways to use points.

According to the company, the changes are meant to offer “more meaningful value” and added personalization, while encouraging regular visits. Starbucks announced the redesign during its 2026 Investor Day, where it outlined broader long‑term growth goals.

Under the new system, members earn Stars at different rates depending on their tier: 1 Star per $1 for Green, 1.2 Stars per $1 for Gold and 1.7 Stars per $1 for Reserve. All new members automatically start at Green. Gold status requires 500 Stars in 12 months, while Reserve requires 2,500 Stars in 12 months.

Star expiration rules are also changing. Green members’ Stars remain valid for six months, with the option to extend them by one month through monthly activity. Gold and Reserve members’ Stars don’t expire, as long as their tier is maintained.

Additional updates include a new monthly perk, Free Mod Mondays, offering one free customization up to $2, plus double Stars for using a personal cup in‑store.

Reload bonuses—10 Stars for $30 and 25 Stars for $50—are also being added. Eligible members will continue to link their Starbucks Rewards accounts with Delta SkyMiles and Marriott Bonvoy for extra benefits
