If you’ve been trying (and failing) to snag Starbucks’ coveted Bearista cup, there’s another route that doesn’t involve racing to a store at opening or paying resale prices online: Starbucks’ seasonal “Starbucks for Life” game is back—and the coveted Bearista cup is up for grabs as one of the prizes.

Starbucks recently teased there's another chance to get a Bearista cup after they quickly sold out, telling customers their “chance is in the Starbucks app” and pointing to 12/8 as the key date, showing a line of signature cups ending on the glass bear. .

Now, as the Starbucks for Life Merrython arrives December 8, it's been revealed 17,000 Bearista cups will be available to be won through the Starbucks Rewards instant-win promotion—though it's limited to one per person.

What is Starbucks for Life?

Starbucks has announced the return of its instant win game for Starbucks Rewards members, giving customers a shot at a range of prizes—including the grand prize that has an estimated value of $70,518.00. Four lucky winners of “Starbucks for Life,” will get a daily credit for 30 years for one free food or beverage item.

The game also includes a “Starbucks for a Year” prize, worth $2,351.00, that gives 50 winners a daily credit for 365 days for one food or beverage item.

Other prizes in the sweepstake, which has thousands of prizes to be won, include bonus stars, free bakery or drink items, cake pops and digital gift cards, costing a total of $2,777,147.

The competition starts on December 8 at 4 a.m. PT and ends on January 4 at 11:59 p.m. PT and is limited to participating stores.

There are also limits on how often you can play: entrants can receive one prize play and one sweepstakes entry each week, plus up to two prize plays per day, with bonus chances to earn more plays.

Why this matters for Bearista fans

The $29.95 Bearista cup, which launched in November as part of their holiday collection, has become a seasonal obsession—so much so that it’s spawned shortages, restocks, and even copycat alternatives. Earlier this year, Walmart sellers released their own dupe for the viral Bearista cup, proving just how intense demand has become.

Starbucks previously told Newsweek: "The excitement for our merchandise exceeded even our biggest expectations and despite shipping more Bearista cups to coffeehouses than almost any other merchandise item this holiday season, the Bearista cup and some other items sold out fast. We know it’s disappointing to fans and we’re sorry if they missed out."

Now though, it looks like people still hoping to get their hands on the real Bearista cup may be in luck, with the Starbucks for Life Merrython adding a new way to own the viral bear.

Instead of hunting store-to-store (or settling for a lookalike), you can try your luck through the Starbucks app during the game window—including via the no-purchase entry route—for a chance at getting your own Bearista cup.
