The babyface "WarGames" team at "WWE Survivor Series" will reportedly not feature both John Cena and Roman Reigns fighting alongside the already confirmed CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Jey Uso. This news comes from Dave Meltzer on a recent "Wrestling Observer Radio".

Meltzer discussed the lineup for the men's "WarGames" match. This speculation followed John Cena’s Intercontinental Title win in Boston, which changed previously reported plans for a match with Dominik Mysterio in San Diego.

“Now that Cena already beat Dominik for the title, I thought that means that match (Mysterio vs. Cena) isn’t happening in San Diego,” Meltzer said. “I figured, why not do Cena, Roman Reigns, Punk, Jey Uso, and Cody Rhodes, and make it like a dream team for the babyface team at WarGames".

However, Meltzer revealed this is not the current plan. "Now I can tell you that that’s not happening. I was told ‘not even close’”.

This new report contradicts plans that had been reported for the last month. Following Seth Rollins’ shoulder injury at "Crown Jewel," which forced him to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship, WWE’s original plans had to be changed.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter subsequently reported that the “core concept” for the match remained. The report stated, “as of press time, the men’s WarGames match was still a Punk & Reigns team against The Vision-led team”.

The latest comments from Meltzer indicate that the plan to have John Cena and Roman Reigns team together is no longer in the cards. This speculation comes as WWE officially announced the Men’s "WarGames" match on the November 10 episode of "Raw".

"Raw" General Manager Adam Pearce, with help from William Regal, confirmed the match. It will pit World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, and Jey Uso against Logan Paul and The Vision (Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed).

The match is currently 3-on-3. Two partners for each team are yet to be announced, confirming that the specific “dream team” Meltzer mentioned is not the current direction.

The initial "dream team" concept would have united five of the biggest babyface stars in modern WWE history. Cena, Reigns, Punk, Rhodes, and Uso all have interconnected histories, making their alliance a major selling point.

The report that this team is "not even close" to happening suggests WWE is moving in a different direction for the two remaining spots. This leaves the identity of the final two babyface members a mystery.

The Vision, led by Paul Heyman, also has two spots to fill. Their core of Breakker, Reed, and Paul establishes them as a formidable group of antagonists for the "Raw" brand.
