Ric Flair has sparked conversation about yet another return to the wrestling ring. Despite billing his 2022 bout as his "Last Match" and suffering significant health scares during the performance, the 76-year-old WWE Hall of Famer has indicated he is open to competing again.

During a virtual signing with K & S WrestleFest, a host relayed fan questions asking if "The Nature Boy" had one more match left in him. Flair revealed that he has actually been offered a match against legendary tag team specialist Ricky Morton of The Rock 'n' Roll Express.

The Motivation

Flair admitted that while the financial aspect is not yet where he wants it to be, the primary driver for a potential return is the need for a goal in his fitness regimen. He expressed that training without an endgame has become difficult.

“Who told you about that? Somebody wants me to wrestle Ricky Morton. I'm thinking about it,” Flair said (H/T to WrestlingNews.co). “Far from—way off on financial terms. It's just something to motivate me. Man, just to go to the gym every day for [nothing] is...”

A Complicated History

Flair last competed on July 31, 2022, at the "Ric Flair's Last Match" pay-per-view in Nashville, Tennessee. He teamed with his then-son-in-law, Andrade El Idolo, to defeat Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett. The match was marred by legitimate health concerns, as Flair later revealed he passed out twice during the bout due to dehydration and even claimed he suffered a heart attack during the performance. Flair has since sent out a statement.

“First, let me clear something up! I will never wrestle again,” Flair wrote before promoting an upcoming appearance. “I’m heading to Flair Country. Charleston, South Carolina, get ready! The Nature Boy and Fiterman Sports are taking over Spooky Empire this weekend! If you want to be the best, you gotta be with the best! Come see me Saturday & Sunday!”

Following that event, Flair expressed regret over billing it as his definitive final match. In September 2022, he vowed never to retire, though he later walked back those comments in January 2024, stating there would be "no return to the ring ever." Now, it appears the door has creaked open once again.
