Roberts, 69, remains a deeply revered and influential figure in professional wrestling. He is celebrated for his chillingly intelligent and captivating promos, his masterful understanding of ring psychology, and for innovating the iconic DDT finishing maneuver.

Rising to prominence in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) during the 1980s and early 1990s, "The Snake" mesmerized audiences worldwide. His dark, brooding persona, often accompanied to the ring by his signature python, Damien, became legendary.

His memorable and psychologically intense feuds with fellow icons such as Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, and Andre the Giant are etched in wrestling history. He also played a pivotal role in the early career of The Undertaker, helping to establish the Deadman's mystique.
