CM Punk has opened up about the physical toll his career has taken on his body, and the details are striking.

Appearing on the Ross Tucker podcast, the World Heavyweight Champion reflected on the most severe injuries he has sustained over nearly three decades in professional wrestling. When asked about the worst damage he has taken in the ring, Punk acknowledged just how close things have come to going tragically wrong.

"Well, let's knock on wood here — let's do one of those," Punk said before getting into specifics.

He identified a fractured skull as the most dangerous injury of his career, describing how it happened during a collision inside the ring.

"I mean, probably the worst one was a fractured skull. That was... that was pretty interesting," Punk said. "My head hit another guy's head, and we kind of sandwiched on the mat at the same time."

Punk acknowledged that looking back on the incident now carries a different weight than it did in the moment. "Yeah, that wasn't fun. And it got pretty serious. We look back at it now and we all laugh, but I could have died — and it's just funny now because I didn't. Man, it would have stunk if I did."

Beyond the skull fracture, Punk revealed that his triceps have also been a recurring source of damage throughout his career. "You name it, I've probably done it. I've torn both triceps."

He described how one of those injuries occurred without warning during a match. "The last one — I got DDT'd, and when I hit the mat, the thing just — bang — popped." He attributed the vulnerability to accumulated wear and tear over years of competition. "Probably a lot of wear and tear on those elbows though, you know what I mean?"

Punk is currently preparing to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns in the Night Two main event of WrestleMania 42 on April 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
