The WNBA received a lot of flack from fans this week after announcing that Game 6 of the WNBA Finals would be played at 12:30 p.m. ET on Thursday in Atlanta.

The Atlanta Hawks have a game on Thursday night at State Farm Arena, so this was the compromise the league decided upon when trying to make both work.

Despite the early start time, fans still sold out Game 6 with over 17,000 people filling the stands of State Farm Arena to watch the Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream.

Since the game took place during mid-day on a Thursday, it's safe to assume a good chunk of fans in the crowd took off work or skipped in order to attend the game. State Farm Arena made sure to poke fun at that.

Instead of doing a kiss cam or look-a-like cam during pregame, the arena chose to do a "Work from Home Cam." The camera person spotlighted fans who looked like they definitely missed work on Thursday to go to the game. Some of the fans played along and jokingly covered their faces to not be "caught."

This was an innocent way of shading the WNBA, too, for scheduling the game last minute during a work day. The WNBA fans proved how loyal they are by showing up regardless of the poor planning.

The Valkyries could win the 2026 title on Thursday with a win. If the Dream win, then the series will travel back to Chase Center in San Francisco, California, on Saturday, Oct. 31 for a Game 7. The champion will be crowned on Saturday at the very latest.
