Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd made a major announcement regarding their off-court relationship, indicating they are no longer together. For some, that is breaking news, while others have been speculating about their breakup for a while.
The Dallas Wings teammates appeared together on Fudd's podcast, "Fudd Around & Find Out," with Bueckers making her first-ever appearance on the pod. In part of the episode, Fudd revealed the relationship news, with Bueckers chiming in.
"Before we continue with anything else, Paige and I have something we wanna share with everyone," Fudd said, before looking at Bueckers and snickering. "We are no longer together."

"Like we don't have to share, but it's been a while, like over a year, and to share that because everybody's gonna be like, 'Oh my gosh, they were teammates. How is this gonna work?' We were not together before she got drafted, so all those narratives can go to bed. She was not drafted because she was my girlfriend. She was drafted because she deserves it. She's an amazing human, amazing basketball player. And, we're still friends," she said of her situation with Fudd.
"We're cool. We broke up over a year ago, so we played an entire season together. We're the utmost professional. We care about basketball, and we're still friends. We're still cool," Bueckers shared.
She and Fudd previously played as teammates for the UConn Huskies under legendary head coach Geno Auriemma. The duo captured a national championship together in 2025, Bueckers' final college basketball season.
She then went No. 1 to the Wings in the 2025 Draft. Earlier this year, the Wings selected Fudd with the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft.
Fudd averaged 13.1 points, 1.8 assists, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game in her rookie season. Meanwhile, Bueckers achieved her second straight All-Star appearance and earned 2026 All-WNBA Second Team honors.
And Dallas made strides in Bueckers' second season, finishing 27-17 and reaching the WNBA Playoffs, where they fell in the first round to the eventual champion Golden State Valkyries. Fudd wasn't part of their postseason due to having a season-ending arthroscopic procedure on her right knee.
Fudd's selection at No. 1 this year raised questions about whether Bueckers influenced the Wings' draft decision. It also raised concerns about her and Bueckers' ability to play together should a breakup occur during the season.
However, Bueckers addressed those concerns with her latest comments, indicating that the two have already shown they can work together professionally after their breakup.
