After the Indianapolis Colts traded away two of their captains — guard Quenton Nelson and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner — this week, rumors immediately began circulating around the possibility of the team trading star running back Jonathan Taylor.

Taylor hasn't requested a trade, and he's remained adamant of his desire to remain a Colt. However, the Colts' side of things continues to change nearly every day it seems. One day the team is reported to be interested in trading Taylor, then the next they reportedly turn down a good deal (a 2027 second-round pick plus an additional pick, per insider Tom Pelissero) to ship him off.

As more teams continue to be linked to wanting to trade for Taylor, where do the Colts really stand?

CBS Sports' Aditi Kinkhabwala spoke with coach Shane Steichen and sources within the team ahead of Sunday's matchup versus the Jacksonville Jaguars and shared what she learned.

"The Colts are of course getting phone calls asking about the availability of Taylor. But, I have been assured by the Colts that they are not soliciting offers for the running back and that they are not actively seeking to move him," Kinkhabwala said on the broadcast.

Kinkhabwala spoke to Taylor, too, in which he detailed his discussion with Colts CEO Carlie Irsay-Gordon.

"He said she didn't give him any assurances that he is definitely going to stay on the team. But, he said that he assured her that he loves the horseshoe," Kinkhabwala said.

There's still a chance Taylor could leave Indianapolis before the Nov. 10 trade deadline — anything is possible in the NFL. Maybe the price will be right later on. But, for now, the Colts don't sound like they want to part ways with their veteran running back.
