Things didn't seem to be trending in the right direction for Minnesota Vikings veteran running back Aaron Jones after he had missed Wednesday's practice after reaggravating a knee injury in the second half of Minnesota’s Week 7 win over the Indianapolis Colts. However, the Vikings received some good news about Jones recovery on Thursday.
According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Jones took a step in the right direction and practiced on Thursday as a limited participant, leaving hope that he could suit up for the Vikings Week 8 matchup against the Detroit Lions.

It's certainly good news as Jones has began his 2026 campaign quite well, rushing for 410 yards and two touchdowns while also reeling in 12 catches for another 72 yards.
Jones carried the ball eight times for 26 yards and recorded a catch for no gain on Sunday before exiting the game with his injury.
However, the Vikings will practice once again on Friday, and afterwards, reveal Jones' status for Week 8.

If Jones does have to miss the Vikings next game, the team will likely been in good shape, though. Week 7 marked the return of fellow running back Jordan Mason after he had missed the previous five weeks with a fractured thumb.
In Jones' absence, Mason ran for 68 yards on 15 touches, averaging an impressive 4.5 yards per carry.
An undrafted free agent out of the 2022 NFL Draft, Mason has rushed for 2,070 yards and 14 touchdowns in his professional career.
