Trey Hendrickson is still a free agent heading into NFL free agency on Wednesday, March 11, and a new team has emerged as a franchise that has the funds and drive to sign him.
Hendrickson, formerly of the Cincinnati Bengals, won't be cheap, but he comes with skill and talent. In The Athletic's updated roster of available free agents, he's at the top.
"Hendrickson has been one of the most productive pass rushers in the NFL over the past five seasons," Daniel Popper of the publication states. "He has the third-most sacks in the league since 2020 with 74.5, and he played in only seven games last season due to a core-muscle injury that required surgery."

Popper adds, "Hendrickson plays with a relentless, urgent motor that puts crushing pressure on a tackle’s outside shoulder. He turns the corner and finishes with a straight-line burst, always hunting for the ball."
There's one Super Bowl-winning team that's hungry to get back to the big game, and that team may be in the running for Hendrickson.

That franchise is the Philadelphia Eagles. They just lost Jaelan Phillips, who agreed to a four-year, $120 million deal to join the Carolina Panthers. Up until that point, it was expected that Phillips would sign with the Eagles, and he was a great fit for the team's pass rusher needs.
But, Hendrickson is still available.
"One player who should be an obvious pivot is former Cincinnati Bengals star Trey Hendrickson," Patrick McAvoy of SI notes in a Tuesday, March 10 feature. "The four-time Pro Bowler had four sacks in seven in games in 2025 as he dealt with injuries. Before that, he was in the conversation with the best overall pass rushers in the game."

McAvoy adds that the Eagles should be "on the phone" with Hendrickson right now to make a deal happen.
Adding to the drama is that on Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter gave an update on Hendrickson, stating that his asking price hasn't been met yet.

"He's been in contact with a number of teams right now," Schefter noted. "The issue I think is this: You see the Houston Texans go out and give Danielle Hunter a $40 million a year extension."
He added, "You see yesterday, the Carolina Panthers shocked the NFL and give Jaelan Phillips $30 million a year. Trey Hendrickson sees himself in the company of those kinds of players. You would think that there would be a corresponding contract in that vicinity."
