Training camp is officially underway for several NFL teams while others will be easing into camp throughout the next week.

The Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers kick off the 2026 preseason with their Hall of Fame Game clash on Thursday, Aug. 6 on NBC, and Week 1 of the preseason officially kicks off the following week on Aug. 13.

As we count down the days until the start of the NFL regular season — which kicks off with a Super Bowl LX rematch between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots on “Sunday Night Football” on Sept. 9 — we continue to look at key offseason storylines for each of the league’s 32 teams.

This week, we’re looking as the players most in danger of being cut during the preseason, and we’ve arrived at the Cleveland Browns.

Cedric Tillman, WR

Of all the position on the Browns’ roster, wide receiver was the one they arguably invested most in this offseason.

They added KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston through the draft, which gives them WR depth miles better than what they had last year with Jerry Jeudy, Isaiah Bond, and Jamari Thrash plus free-agent addition Tylan Wallace.

Cleveland’s WR room looks pretty crowded, and Tillman (and his $3.65 million salary) just might be the odd man out.

Jack Stoll, TE

Harold Fannin Jr. burst onto the scene as a rookie last year, and he played so well that he forced Pro Bowler David Njoku out of town.

Behind him, Cleveland has lots of depth options — Brenden Bates, Jack Stoll, Blake Whitehart, and rookies Joe Royer and Carsen Ryan — but most of them will likely end up getting cut.

Stoll is the oldest and most expensive of that group, which is why he’s the most likely to end up being released.

Julian Okwara, DE

The Browns currently have nine edge-rushers heading into camp, and the competition at that position will be fierce.

Jared Verse, Adin Huntington, Isaiah McGuire, and Alex Wright are considered locks for the 53-man roster, leaving Logan Fano, Julian Okwara, Tyreak Sapp, Khordae Sydnor, and Benton Whitley left to battle it out.

Okwara showed promise back in 2021 with the Detroit Lions (five sacks, forced fumble, fumble recovery), but he hasn’t done much since. And at 28, he’s one of the older pass-rushers on the roster. It would make sense to cut him and give opportunities to some younger players.
