Last week, the Seattle Seahawks traded a 2027 third-round pick and a fifth-rounder in 2028 to the Indianapolis Colts for offensive guard Quenton Nelson.
Nelson made his debut for the Seahawks in Monday night's 34-17 loss to the Chicago Bears, but head coach Mike Macdonald told reporters on Friday that he was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Nelson was put on the injury report this week for a knee injury. He was limited in practice on Wednesday but did not participate in Thursday's practice. Macdonald said Nelson will need a minor surgery, but the Seahawks do not plan to place him on injured reserve. Nelson is week-to-week with the injury.

Macdonald explained that Nelson was dealing with the knee injury amid the trade.
"In short, he had something that he was dealing with when he got here, and we re-imaged it, and it was aggravated to some degree," Macdonald said. "So, we've kind of done the due diligence, and everybody agrees that it's best to take care of it now and play the long game. So he'll be week-to-week at this point."
Nelson was listed for having a knee injury on last week's injury report. He was a full participant in practice for all three days before playing the Bears.
Earlier this week, Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Fleury believed the offensive line was ready to see some growth after adding Nelson to the unit.
"I wouldn't say that it was perfect," Fleury said of the offensive line's performance against the Bears on Monday night, via the Seahawks' website.
"But considering all the moving parts and the new people in new places communicating in different ways, I was overall happy with what they were able to do out there. I think that there's room for growth and I'm excited to see that growth."
Seattle will have to wait until Nelson returns before the offensive line takes its next step.
