As we get closer to the start of the 2024 season, the real fun begins. Gone are all the hypotheticals and narratives, while all the hard work of the summer comes into play. The NFL added some strong personalities to the league from the 2024 NFL Draft, but none bigger than quarterback Caleb Williams. The Chicago Bears selected Williams with the No. 1 overall pick and he is projected to be the face of the franchise for the foreseeable future.

Williams has the skill set to make every throw on the field and was one of the more anticipated draft picks in some time. He made headlines off the field for how he conducts himself, including that he paints his nails. This hasn't gone over well with some players, and Williams has taken some slack for it. Despite it being a harmless activity that Williams does, the real test will be how he performs on the field. But that hasn't stopped some from taunting him.

Tennessee Titans star defender Jeffrey Simmons recently said that he is looking forward to trash-talking Williams during the season. Chicago is scheduled to host the Titans in Week 1 of the NFL season.

"Painted nails. I can't wait to say that to him," Simmons said. "Most definitely. Oh, it's gonna be one of them games. I mean, he probably gets smack-talked by his teammates right now, but especially a game like that. My first game, of course I missed the last end of the season. ... It's gonna be the first game of the season. They've got us coming to Chicago. All the hype's gonna be around them of course. I think when special, even prime-time games ... everybody just counts Tennessee out, which we all know. A game like Chicago, I'm sure (they're) thinking we 'bout to get beat bad. That also make me even talk more smack and boost me up a little more, get into a different mode, as well. I'll be in a different mode that game.

Simmons also praised Williams for his talent but he is the new player on the block. Williams will have a target on his back until he proves he belongs in the NFL. Nobody cares what he did while in college, so Williams will have to earn his keep in the NFL. It will be a tough challenge to face the Titans' defense with Simmons in his first-ever game, but Williams has shown that he doesn't back down from challenges.

"I get it. You've got a first-round pick like Caleb Williams, which is a great player. Watching a couple games when he was at USC, he's a hell of a player. But it's a different league, and I'm excited to play him the first game."

With these comments from Simmons, we should be in for a great Week 1 matchup. The Bears and Titans aren't expected to be Super Bowl contenders, but weirder things have happened. This will undoubtedly be something to watch within this game, and if Simmons gets a sack on Williams, fireworks may come out.
