Skip Bayless is a big believer in Shedeur Sanders, who will likely start at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns this weekend.
While appearing on ESPN's "First Take" with Stephen A. Smith on Thursday, Bayless shared his thoughts on Sanders' time with the Browns. Bayless said that Sanders being selected in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft was a "draft injustice," and he hopes that Sanders gets to play for a team that shows what he can do.
"I don't even get the sense that Todd Monken likes Shedeur as his backup quarterback," Bayless said. "He raved about Dillon Gabriel in camp. ...I thought they were all shots at Shedeur. I don't think he's gotten a fair shake in Cleveland. I pray for this kid to get a chance somewhere with somebody who believes in him."

Sanders will likely start against the New Orleans Saints because Deshaun Watson entered concussion protocol on Wednesday. On Tuesday, Watson told the medical staff he began experiencing concussion symptoms on Monday night.
Browns HC Shares Thoughts on Shedeur Sanders
Sanders has played in two games this year and has completed three pass attempts. In 2025, Sanders played in eight games with seven starts and completed 56.6% of his passes for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
"He's been working diligently each week, with the expectation there's a chance he could play, which was true in any given game," Monken said about Sanders, per Kelsey Russo of ClevelandBrowns.com. "He was going to have to prepare. Just like what happened last game when he went in the game."
Sanders spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons at Colorado playing for head coach Deion Sanders, who is also his father. He was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2024 after completing 74% of his passes for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
