The Cleveland Browns rallied off two impressive wins to conclude their season against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals to finish 5-12 on the season.
However, despite those victories, it wasn't enough for them to keep head coach Kevin Stefanski, announcing his firing on Monday after six seasons with the organization, winning Coach of the Year two separate times.
"Thank you, Kevin, for all your dedication and relentless effort for this organization," Browns posted. "We appreciate everything you have contributed to this team and will look back fondly on the memorable moments we shared."

On Monday, while speaking to the media, Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders was asked about the firing of Kevin Stefanski, learning about the news along with his teammates.
“We just found out a couple seconds ago,” Sanders said. “But I think overall it’s just the mentality — it was going to happen. That’s just how the league is. Moving forward, we just need to focus on what we can improve individually for the next head coach.”

Stefanski is expected to draw significant interest elsewhere in the league as a head coach and is not expected to take any time off, with several vacancies already emerging following the conclusion of the regular season on Sunday.
As for Sanders, he remains under contract with the Browns. Whether he starts next season or not, he played well enough to at least make it a serious conversation for general manager Andrew Berry and whoever the next head coach in Cleveland will be.
