Seattle Seahawks star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is having one of the greatest seasons in NFL history, and it just so happens he can make some NFL history in Week 9.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Smith-Njigba will become only the fourth player in NFL history with 1,100 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns through the first nine games of a season with 115 receiving yards and a touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

That may seem like quite the tall task for most players, but Smith-Njigba has proven to be not like most players. In fact, he has already recorded five games this season with at least 115 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals are allowing 220.5 passing yards per game in the NFL, setting up Smith-Njigba to reach the mark this weekend.

If Smith-Njigba does so, it will also help him move closer toward the single season receiving yards record, which is held by Hall of Fame wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who racked up 1,964 yards in 2012 with the Detroit Lions.
Smith-Njigba currently has 985 yards and nine touchdowns on the season, putting him on pace to finish the year with 2,093 yards. That would surely give him a great opportunity to repeat as the NFL Offensive Player of the Year since no player has ever had more than 2,000 receiving yards in a single season.
A first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Smith-Njigba has recorded 346 catches for 4,536 yards and 29 touchdowns in his professional career.
