The Baltimore Ravens thought they were finally getting back on track on Sunday as quarterback Lamar Jackson made his return after missing the last three games with a high-ankle sprain.

But, Jackson's return unfortunately only lasted one play on Sunday as he suffered a thumb injury early in the matchup versus the Buffalo Bills. He was ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley then came in for Jackson, like he has the past three games. But, Huntley was hurt at the beginning of the second quarter when he was sacked by Cole Bishop to fumble the ball. Huntley suffered a toe injury and is questionable to return.

The Ravens sat in any team's worst-case scenario — they had to turn to their third-string quarterback against a really good Bills team. Their third-string QB is undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano out of UConn. He made his NFL debut in the second quarter when coming in for Huntley.

Baltimore Ravens, Joe Fagnano

...

Fagnano's first drive started off well as he threw a pass to Josh Cuevas for a 15-yard gain. Then, Ja'Kobi Lane caught a pass from Fagnano for a 13-yard gain.

That's when things went south. Fagnano was sacked by Bills cornerback Maxwell Hairston for a loss of nine yards. The quarterback then threw two incompletions to end the drive. Ravens kicker Tyler Loop then missed a 34-yard field goal attempt.

The Ravens then went three-and-out on Fagnano's second drive of the game after he was sacked a second time.

Things can change in the second half, especially if Huntley is cleared to return.

Regardless, the Ravens have a lot to be worried about regarding Jackson's new injury. They'll want to get him back on the field as fast as they can. And, if Huntley's injury benches him for any games, then the Ravens will be in the market to add another quarterback. It's not an ideal situation for Baltimore.
