The Baltimore Ravens made the shocking decision to fire longtime head coach John Harbaugh on Tuesday night after 18 seasons with the organization.
Baltimore has come up short several times over the past few seasons, and this year ended with a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the regular-season finale, effectively eliminating the team from postseason contention.
With that, both sides felt it was simply time to move on. The Ravens now join several other teams around the league in beginning their search for a new head coach, while Harbaugh has already been rumored as a serious candidate for multiple openings.

The Ravens are expected to interview a number of candidates, and on Sunday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, they are scheduled to meet with Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy.

Matt Nagy has an extensive resume and has emerged as one of the top head-coaching candidates this offseason. He spent years coaching under Andy Reid with both the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chiefs before becoming the Chicago Bears’ head coach from 2018 to 2021.
If Nagy does not land a head coaching opportunity, it is expected that Reid and the Chiefs would retain him on their staff for next season, despite his contract expiring heading into 2026.

Reid has made it clear he believes Nagy deserves another opportunity as a head coach in this league, a stance he emphasized repeatedly over the final weeks of the NFL season when asked about Nagy’s performance as the Chiefs’ OC.
“Phenomenal. We were on a record pace there for a bit, as far as statistically,” Reid said. “I think he deserves to be a head football coach in this league.”
