It’s no secret the Baltimore Ravens go as quarterback Lamar Jackson goes.

The two-time MVP entered Sunday’s Week 4 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs as the league leader in touchdown passes (nine) and ranked 12th in the NFL in passing yards (722).

Jackson appeared to be on pace to add to those already impressive stats—he threw for 147 yards and a touchdown through three quarters—before he exited Sunday’s contest with a concerning injury.

Jackson went down on a quarterback run and appeared to be in pain. He made his way over to the sideline, and after a brief chat with head coach John Harbaugh, Jackson remained on the bench as backup QB Cooper Rush entered the game.

CBS Sports sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson confirmed Jackson suffered a hamstring injury and was questionable to return. Her report was later confirmed by the Ravens on social media.

“He’s extremely frustrated,” Wolfson said. “[Head coach] John Harbaugh came over to see if he was OK. I got word it is a hamstring injury, and he’s questionable to return.”

Jackson's injury is concerning, given the three-week average recovery timeline for a hamstring injury in the NFL. For context, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle suffered a hamstring injury earlier this season and was put in injured reserve, sidelining him for a minimum of four weeks.

If the Ravens are without Jackson for multiple games, they could fall out of playoff contention quickly. Barring a miracle four-quarter comeback, the Ravens will be 1-3 heading into next week's matchup against the Houston Texans. They then have tough games against the Los Angeles Rams and Chicago Bears before a Week 9 date with the 0-3 Miami Dolphins.

The Ravens trail the Chiefs 37-13 with 12:22 left in the fourth quarter.
