Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay has publicly responded to the rumors that star wide receiver Cooper Kupp may been traded and he's clear: he expects the player to stick around.

Rumors have been rampant in recent weeks that the Rams are looking to trade Cooper Kupp; Newsweek Sports has previously speculated that the Los Angeles Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were all prime contenders to take on the Super Bowl LVI MVP.

However, McVay has now gone on record to state that he has no plans to trade the players, saying "I'm really glad to have Cooper Kupp back with us and I expect it to stay that way."

Previously, McVay has addressed a report in The Athletic that claimed that the Rams are prepared to cover part of his 2024 salary, which currently stands at approximately $12 million for the remainder of the season.

The coach said, "Teams reached out, some of the things that I've seen out there, they are just not true. We've addressed that with those individuals. Teams have called about him, and really we let him know what the dialogue was there, and then there's a lot of stuff out there where there's not a lot of accountability to the reports, and that's unfortunate."

Rams fans got a huge boost last Monday when Kupp was listed as a full participant at practice for the first time in weeks. The wide receiver has been sidelined since Week 2 when he injured his ankle in the second quarter of a matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

Kupp will not be ready to return to the field for at least a few more practices, but this is a big step in the right direction for both the player and the Rams. The team is currently 3-4 and has been plagued by injuries the entire season; aside from the 2021 Offensive Player of the Year, Puka Nacua, Steve Avila, Joe Noteboom, and Jonah Jackson have all been out of play.

That's a pretty huge disadvantage for the Rams, so it may not be that much of a surprise that McVay isn't entertaining any thoughts of getting rid of his most notable player before he can even get back on the grass.
