Christian Wilkins

...

Wilkins will not play in the second half. Wilkins stayed in the locker room due to the injury that he sustained late in the second quarter. He'll end the day registering five tackles (four solo) and one sack.

The Denver Broncos currently lead the Raiders 20-10.

Wilkins has been replaced by Adam Butler, who is second behind Wilkins in the depth chart alongside John Jenkins. This is a massive loss for the Raiders, who have already stuffed even with Wilkins on their side.

The Raiders currently rank 24th in opponent points per game (24.3), 20th in opponent yards per game (344.3), 24th in opponent yards per play (5.6), 17th in opponent red zone scoring (57.1 percent), and 19th in opponent touchdowns per game (2.5).

The 28-year-old is in his first season in Las Vegas after spending his first five seasons in his career as a Miami Dolphin. Wilkins signed with the Raiders this past offseason to a four-year deal worth $110 million, with $84.75 million guaranteed.

Prior to his time in Las Vegas, Wilkins established himself as one of the best defensive tackles in Miami. He was the No. 13 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He recorded 355 total tackles, 43 tackles for loss, 50 quarterback hits, one interception returned for eight yards, 19 passes defended, four forced fumbles, and six fumble recoveries.

Wilkins panned out a hell of a college career for himself in his time at Clemson. He was a two-time College Football national champion, Williams V. Campbell Trophy winner, Bill Willis Trophy, Unanimous All-American, two-time first-team All-American, two-time Fist-team All-ACC, and Second-team All-ACC.

In college, Wilkins recorded 191 total tackles, 16 sacks, 42 tackles for loss, 16 passes defended, three forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries.

It's too early to speculate how long or how serious Wilkins' injury is, but it's never a great sign when a player comes out of a game. The Raiders have already come to the game without several key players due to injuries, which has been an issue all season.

The hope is that Wilkins will not be out for too long and will be ready to play for the team's next game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at home.
