The Las Vegas Raiders are ready to kick the tires on a new era. Klint Kubiak will look to improve their league-worst offense, and they will have the No. 1 pick to do so.

However, even with Fernando Mendoza joining Ashton Jeanty and Brock Bowers, the Raiders will need much more to return to playoff contention. More than that, they might not have their best player next season.

Maxx Crosby is the biggest name facing trade rumors right now, and while he hasn't gone on the record to say he wants to leave, there's just too much noise to ignore right now.

Considering that, NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero believes that it's just a matter of time before the Raiders pull the plug on him. Talking on "The Rich Eisen Show," he predicted a trade could happen in the next week or so.

The Raiders Could Trade Maxx Crosby in the Next Week

“I would say it is fair to assume that the Raiders are getting many calls about Maxx Crosby. We heard what John Spytek said in this room. (He) expects Maxx to be back. Great relationship, texting, and talking. We have not heard from Maxx Crosby since that session. Maxx has many ways on social media or on a podcast to potentially respond,” Pelissero said.

“But I would say the Raiders don't need to make calls. They will get calls on Maxx Crosby. Is there a world where Max Crosby gets traded in the next seven to 10 days? I believe there is,” he added.

Crosby is one of the most dominant defensive forces in the game. He had 10.5 sacks last season, and he's posted 69.5 in his seven-year career.

The Raiders will probably demand multiple first-round picks and a starting-caliber player in any trade, just like the Dallas Cowboys did when they traded Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. He's two years older than Parsons, but premium pass rushers are rarely available, and he's a true game-wrecker at the line of scrimmage.

The Raiders will likely exhaust every avenue to keep him in Sin City. That said, it wouldn't be shocking to see multiple teams knocking on their door with Godfather-like offers for his services.
