New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel gave an update on the health of wide receiver A.J. Brown on Friday on whether he still remains questionable for Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins with an ankle injury… which seems to have also turned into a knee issue.

Halloween aside, it was sorta cryptic.

“Just like everything else, when you come out of the game or all week or practice on Monday, evaluate the player,” Vrabel said according to Patriots insider Doug Kyed. “Just wasn’t able to be able to practice or finish practice on Wednesday, and so we continue to treat him, and then we’ll see where he is tomorrow.”

Brown has been dealing with a nagging ankle issue and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said on Thursday that he wasn’t seen at practice.

“Brown, not spotted at practice today, is not practicing because of a knee issue that has flared up, sources say.” Rapoport posted on X. “Brown also was listed on yesterday’s injury report with an ankle. Knee was added, as well, and his status for Sunday is up in the air.”

Brown was limited to practice on Wednesday.

The WR suffered an ankle injury during Week 1 and returned after four games. When asked if Brown was brought back too soon, Vrabel didn’t give much of an answer.

“I think those are separate issues,” Vrabel said on Friday according to Kyed.

Brown was asked on Wednesday if he was working on “regaining his explosiveness,” Bleacher Report said.

“Sometimes I see it, and sometimes I’m pushing through,” Brown said. “I know, obviously, I’m working on something, but there’s no excuses.”
