Patrick Mahomes didn't have the type of game he wanted to have against the Seattle Seahawks, with the Kansas City Chiefs handed their first loss of the season, and in embarrassing fashion.
The Chiefs couldn't find the end zone, had only 213 yards of offense, and managed just one field goal all game. Their defense also gave up two touchdowns to the defending Super Bowl champions, with Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Emanuel Wilson each scoring in the 20-3 win.
After the game, Mahomes took to the podium to address his team's performance, sending a blunt message on the loss and his team's next game.

"Got your tail kicked. Didn't execute offensively, especially around that midfield area. Kept us away from a lot of points, or at least enough points to be competitive. It's stuff you gotta learn from; that's obviously a really good defense, and we didn't execute at a high enough level to have success," Mahomes said at the postgame media session.

Mahomes said the Chiefs were unable to sustain drives against the Seahawks' defense, and also accepted responsibility for his team not starting faster, which allowed their opponents to jump ahead.
The Seahawks scored 10 unanswered points in the first half, thanks to a JSN touchdown. They continued to hold the visitors to few points in the second half, with Harrison Butker only able to put a field goal on the board for the Chiefs.
At his media session, Mahomes was asked for his message to his Kansas City Chiefs teammates on the loss. He indicated that a lot depends on preparation ahead of the game.
"If you don't come ready to play is just you can get your tail kicked in this league, and no matter if you're 5-0 or whatever it is," the Chiefs quarterback also said. "You have to have that mindset of when you go through that week of practice, 'We need our best football that Sunday.'"
Mahomes finished with just 165 passing yards, no touchdowns, an interception, and was sacked once. He also emphasized that they have a young team, and it'll be all about how they respond after this disappointing loss.
The Chiefs will visit the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Nov. 2, in a rematch of their game from Sep. 14 where Kansas City was victorious at home, 31-10.
