The Kansas City Chiefs (1-2) are gearing up for one of the most anticipated matchups of Week 4 as they host the Baltimore Ravens (1-2) in an AFC Championship Game rematch from two seasons ago.
Both teams have stumbled out of the gate, but Kansas City is coming off its first win of the season after a 22-9 victory over the New York Giants on "Sunday Night Football."
The Chiefs are also getting closer to receiving some big boosts on offense. Second-year wide receiver Xavier Worthy is trending toward a return this weekend after suffering a shoulder injury in Week 1, while suspended WR Rashee Rice was welcomed back into the facility this week. Rice still has three games left to serve on his six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy, but his presence has already been felt.

Although Rice cannot yet practice, he is now permitted to attend meetings and begin his personal ramp-up for Week 7 when he’ll officially be eligible to return to the field. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes spoke on Rice’s presence this week, fueling the excitement in the building surrounding his eventual return.
“It’s huge, you know," Mahomes said. "I think just having a guy you’ve worked with every single week, all training camp and offseason, and then having him back in the building — he always has a smile on his face. You can tell the guys like him. He’s one of those guys that’s already won a Super Bowl, and even though he’s young, he can be a leader in the room with how we work and how we get after things. Obviously, he can’t practice, but being in the meetings and listening to the stuff we’re working on definitely gives a boost to the receiver room and the whole offense.

Rice burst onto the scene during the 2023 season, quickly establishing himself as one of the Chiefs’ top offensive weapons with 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns.
He carried that momentum into the 2024 campaign with a fast start, but his season was cut short in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers when he suffered a season-ending knee injury. In those four games, Rice recorded 24 catches for 288 yards and two touchdowns, and he was well on-pace to surpass his impressive rookie season totals.

Over the first three games, the Chiefs have been operating with an injury ravaged wide receiving corps comprised of Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Tyquan Thornton, who has been a welcome addition since joining the team in the offseason.
Sunday’s showdown at Arrowhead Stadium against the Ravens will kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET, with both teams looking to avoid falling into an early 1-3 hole in the season.
