The Green Bay Packers may have lost a major weapon from quarterback Jordan Love's receiving corps, as Christian Watson exited Thursday night's game against the Carolina Panthers with an injury.

Watson collided with Panthers cornerback Will Lee in the second quarter after completing a long reception from Love. Following the play, both players remained on the ground, with team staff coming over to check on them.

While Lee was carted away, Watson walked off the field on his own but then headed back to the locker room. Lee was ruled out for the remainder of the game due to a hamstring injury.

Soon after that, Amazon Prime showed footage of Watson getting into the back of an ambulance. Sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung said the Packers receiver was headed to a nearby hospital for precautionary testing for a potential chest injury.

Watson had six receptions for 100 yards before leaving Thursday night's game in Green Bay. He's been the Packers' top receiver so far this season. Ahead of his injury, he'd racked up 34 receptions for 595 yards and six touchdowns. His 17.5 yards per reception is tied for third in the NFL.

Watson is playing in his sixth season with the Packers. Earlier this year, he signed a four-year, $110.5 million extension with Green Bay.

Despite losing one of their top weapons on offense, Green Bay still had other options available against a struggling Panthers defense. Earlier in the game, tight end Tucker Kraft scored the team's opening touchdown to make it 6-3 in favor of the Packers.

After Watson's departure, teammate Matthew Golden became a new target for Love. Golden finished the first half with 49 yards and a touchdown to help the Packers' 20-6 lead before halftime.

Green Bay was looking to get back on track after suffering a disappointing loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 7. A win would keep them active in the competitive NFC North race, which currently has the 6-0 Minnesota Vikings leading all teams, with everyone else in hot pursuit.

Update (10/29/27): Watson returned to the sideline with under seven minutes in the third quarter and received a loud ovation from fans at Lambeau Field. He was reportedly questionable to return, leaving the possibility that he might still play in the game.
