The Minnesota Vikings have stars on both sides of the ball, sure. But if you're picking the one non-quarterback they simply can't afford to lose in 2026, it's Justin Jefferson. Everything the offense wants to accomplish starts with No. 18.

It's almost too obvious, but sometimes the obvious answer is the right one.

Jefferson has reached the point in his career where he isn't simply one of the league's best receivers. He's the player every defensive coordinator circles before the game even begins. Opponents know what's coming, yet slowing him down is an entirely different challenge.

There are other worthy candidates. Left tackle Christian Darrisaw is one of the league's premier blindside protectors when healthy. So, yeah, his importance can't be overstated. An elite offense doesn't function very well if the quarterback is constantly under pressure.

On the defensive side, Andrew Van Ginkel has become one of the most valuable pieces in Brian Flores' aggressive system.

Still, Jefferson stands alone.

The Vikings can replace production in a lot of places. They can't replace what Justin Jefferson brings every Sunday. His ability to dictate defensive game plans, produce big plays and elevate everyone around him makes him the most important non-quarterback on Minnesota's roster heading into the 2026 season.
