The Denver Broncos (9-2) are firing on all cylinders after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs (5-5) on Sunday, extending their lead atop the AFC West with roughly a month and a half left in the regular season.
Denver, which trailed 19-16 in the fourth quarter, rallied on two key drives led by quarterback Bo Nix. Both drives resulted in field goals by Wil Lutz, with the final one coming in the closing seconds to secure a 22-19 victory.
The Broncos’ defense played exceptionally well throughout the game, stifling the Chiefs’ offense at crucial moments. However, one player in particular drew criticism from former NFL and Broncos legend Shannon Sharpe, who took to social media to label defensive back Riley Moss as “not good.”

"I’ll let yall keep telling me Riley Moss is a dawg. He’s not good. I’ll end it at that," Sharpe posted on X

NFL fans, however, strongly disagreed with Sharpe’s take on Moss. The defensive back has actually had a stellar season, allowing one of the lowest completion percentages when targeted this year, while also being one of the most targeted DBs in the league.
A fan said, "I thought you knew ball?"
Someone else added, "Broncos are only giving up 13 Points a game with The DPOY out. Riley Moss is doing Wayyyyyyyy better than you give him credit for. Defense isn’t about perfection it is about keeping them out of the end zone."
Another person wrote, "He is great at coverage. Just needs to stop the unneeded penalties. He had great coverage on both plays. Why do you hate a Bronco who is playing great ball. Aren’t you a Bronco?????"
"You are a HOFer but I still think Riley is going to have a great career. He needs to work on the grabbing but he is almost always right there. Honestly he doesn’t do anything I haven’t seen every other DB in the league do he just needs to learn to hide it better.," one more fan commented.

Riley Moss ranks first in the NFL in solo tackles with 46, a testament to the strength of the Broncos’ defense all season. He’s also fourth in pass breakups and fourth in receptions allowed.
Selected 83rd overall by Denver in 2023, Moss has worked his way into a starting role in one of the league’s best secondaries when Pat Surtain is healthy—arguably the top cornerback in the NFL.
