With the NFL trade deadline days away, Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry was among the players mentioned in trade speculation.

On Saturday, NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed, via league sources, that the Ravens are not expected to trade Henry and told him directly they would not trade him before the deadline. The expectation is that the Ravens' offense will continue to rely on Henry as a main component, despite their quarterback struggles.

Henry, 32, was recently linked to trade speculation involving the New England Patriots and the New York Giants, with the Patriots considered a strong contender who might add the star running back. That would've reunited him with former head coach Mike Vrabel, whom he spent the first part of his career playing for in Tennessee.

The Giants would've also offered Henry a reunion with his former Ravens coach, John Harbaugh, who took over the Giants' head coaching position this offseason. However, ESPN indicated that there was no direct evidence that Harbaugh or Vrabel inquired about Henry, although the Giants reportedly expressed interest in Ravens running back Justice Hill.

Henry entered the league in 2016 and spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Titans. He signed a two-year, $16 million deal with the Ravens in 2024 and has rushed for over 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns in Baltimore.

He's a five-time Pro Bowler and has led the league in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns in multiple seasons. His frustration was also apparent after his team's recent 33-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on "Thursday Night Football."

"Wasn't good enough; we gotta be better. They were the better team. Yeah, same story. Wasn't good enough. Gotta be better," he said in the locker room. "I mean, we lost four times; it's frustrating. We gotta be better. Watch the film, get better from it," Henry told reporters in the locker room.

"Got eight games left. Gotta go back to work. That's all I can tell you. I don't know. I don't have the magical answer. We gotta go back to work," he said.

He also addressed his current situation with Baltimore amid the trade speculation that was going on.

"I have not mentioned me going anywhere else. I'm saying, let's go back to work, try to get better, turn this thing around," he told reporters.

Based on the latest update from Schefter, Henry isn't going anywhere, and based on his comments he still seems committed to trying to turn around a rough season with the Ravens.

The team is currently 4-5 and in last place in the AFC North, and also recently traded with the Arizona Cardinals for quarterback Jacoby Brissett to help out while Lamar Jackson is out due to surgery on his right thumb.

The Ravens will attempt to start turning things around with their next matchup on Monday, Nov. 16, when they face the Los Angeles Chargers on "Monday Night Football."
