The Baltimore Ravens may be desperately in need of another quarterback after injuries to starter Lamar Jackson and backup Tyler Huntley in their Week 8 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Jackson had officially returned to play for his team in Sunday's game. Unfortunately, he suffered a thumb injury on his throwing hand on his first offensive play of the game. While throwing the ball, the two-time NFL Most Valuable Player hit his hand on Bills linebacker Greg Rousseau and then exited the game in pain.
He returned to the sideline later with his hand and thumb in a cast. After the loss, head coach Jesse Minter said Jackson would be placed on injured reserve and would require surgery.

Ravens backup Tyler Huntley came in, but it wasn't for long. He suffered a toe injury in the game's second quarter when he was tackled by Bills defensive lineman Ed Oliver. That forced Huntley out, and third-string, undrafted UConn quarterback Joe Fagnano replaced him to finish the game.

The injuries seemingly put the Ravens at a serious disadvantage, especially when it looked like they would be contending for the AFC North. Jackson will miss at least the next four games, and it's uncertain if he'll be able to return this season.
Baltimore could now face a difficult situation at quarterback with their "Thursday Night Football" game against the Jacksonville Jaguars approaching. The Ravens may need to move quickly to find additional help.
Ahead of NBC's "Sunday Night Football" game, NFL insider Mike Florio reported on the latest Ravens quarterback news. While he said Jackson is definitely out for at least the next four games, he also said the team is unsure if Huntley would be able to go on Thursday night.
He suggested that Baltimore might look to the Chicago Bears' backup quarterbacks for an option, should they need to add a player at the position.
"Here's one thing to keep in mind. The Bears have three quarterbacks. One of them is Tyson Bagent. Declan Doyle, the Ravens' offensive coordinator, was the Bears' offensive coordinator last year. Don't be surprised if the Ravens reach out. Still nine days left in the trade window," Florio said.
However, Florio also indicated he was told "it would not be easy to get him away from the Bears" this season. That seems especially true since Bagent was crucial for the Bears as a backup earlier this season while Caleb Williams was out with a hamstring tear.
He played quarterback for the Bears in their 23-12 win over the New York Jets, throwing for 268 yards with no touchdown passes. He was intercepted and sacked once during that victory.
Williams has since returned, and the Bears seem like they could be serious contenders. They may want to keep all available quarterback options in case another injury occurs.
The 2026 NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. ET. It will be interesting to see if Baltimore makes a move for Chicago's backup or looks for another option, with just over a week left for teams to make trades.
