The Green Bay Packers have won four of their last five games, yet they’re still sitting in last place in the NFC North behind the undefeated Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions.
However, help appears to be on the way.
Packers defensive end Micah Parsons hasn’t played since tearing the ACL in his left knee in a 34-26 loss to the Denver Broncos last December. But on Saturday, The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero revealed when the five-time Pro Bowler is most likely to make his season debut.

“Packers edge Micah Parsons is expected to return to practice next week for the first time since undergoing knee reconstruction last December,” he wrote. “But his return to game action is likely still a few weeks away.
“Parsons is not expected to play next Sunday against the Patriots. The Packers have one more game before their bye and it’s possible Parsons could be ready for that Week 9 rivalry game against Minnesota. But given the Packers’ conservative medical approach, the most likely return date for Parsons is November 25 against the Rams.”

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport also reported that Green Bay and Parsons are targeting the Thanksgiving Eve game against the Rams for his return — news that certainly puts a smile on the face of Packers fans.
Traditionally, the Packers rarely put a player coming off a torn ACL back on the practice field until at least nine months after surgery, according to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, and Parsons is now just over 10 months removed from his.
Parsons, who initially targeted a Week 6 return against the Dallas Cowboys, has also been in no rush.
“It’s just about me making sure I have all the small things fixed first,” Parsons said earlier this month on his “The Edge” podcast. “What a lot of people don’t figure out is it’s not just the ACL. It’s like, why did the ACL happen? What was weak? Because it all works together. It’s a chain.”
The Packers currently lead the NFL with 22 sacks — six of which came in Thursday’s 27-19 win over the Carolina Panthers. They also entered Week 8 with a league-best 13 takeaways.
Adding a pass-rusher who had 12.5 sacks last season and became the first player since 1982 to post at least 12 in each of his first five seasons will only make Green Bay more dangerous.
