Campbell said it was good to see LaPorta moving like himself in his return to practice on Friday.

Sam LaPorta

...

"That was good to see," Lions coach Dan Campbell said Saturday at the team's practice facility in Allen Park. "So he's bounced back quickly, healed up nicely. So no, he's good."

The 23-year-old Pro Bowler suffered the injury while making a block on the Lions' hook-and-lateral touchdown late in the first half of last week's win over the Arizona Cardinals.

LaPorta sat out of practice on Thursday and was on a limited basis on Friday.

LaPorta wasn't the only one who returned to practice or was upgraded for a full practice. Offensive tackle Dan Skipper (ribs), defensive tackle Alim McNeill (shoulder), defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike (knee), linebacker Alex Anzalone (concussion), and safety Brian Branch (concussion) all participated in Friday's practice.

LaPorta has not hit his steide yet this seoans. In three games in 2024, he has only recorded eight receptions on 10 targets for 94 yards, zero touchdowns, and an average of 11.8 yards per reception.

It hasn't been the sedans many expected of him just yet, and we will see if he appears to be the player he has the potential to be. Last season, LaPorta showed that he could be the tight end of the future.

In 17 games and 14 starts last season, LaPorta recorded 86 receptions on 120 targets, 889 yards, 10 touchdowns, had a catch percentage of 71.7 percent, and averaged 10.3 yards per reception. The 23-year-old played a pivotal role in leading the team to their first NFC championship game in over 30 years.

This season, the Lions and LaPorta have high expectations. They are no longer the sweet story of an underdog. They are now the hunted, not the hunter.

The Lions will look to move to 3-1 over their NFC counterparts and give Seattle their first loss of the season. Detroit currently has the fourth-best Super Bowl odds in the NFL (+1100).

At +1100, the Lions sport an 8.3 percent chance of winning the Super Bowl.
