New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh is reportedly eyeing major changes to the franchise's front office as he looks to mold the entire organization to his liking.
Harbaugh took on the Giants after a lengthy negotiation period, agreeing to sign with the team. He was holding out for additional power in the team, reporting directly to ownership rather than the front office.
As the most in-demand candidate in football, Harbaugh had all the leverage, especially since the Giants have been struggling for years now and were not in a strong position to hold their ground on their philosophy.

The new coach has already made a bold decision, cutting ties with Kevin Abrams, their Senior VP of Football Operations and Strategy, according to multiple reports.

Abrams had been with the Giants for nearly 30 years, surviving multiple organizational reshufflings, but Harbaugh has decided to move on from him.
According to SNY's Connor Hughes, the Giants' decision to move on from Abrams is not the last front-office, executive-related move the franchise will make.
"From what I'm told: Kevin Abrams is just the beginning for the #Giants. More changes are coming ...," Hughes wrote on X.
What has John Harbaugh changed in the Giants' front office already?
Shortly after the news of Abrams' firing broke, Hughes reported that many members of the coaching staff were let go, with only one coach considered for Harbaugh's staff.
"John Harbaugh informed the vast majority of the #Giants defensive coaches to clean out their offices over the weekend. Not all, though. He met personally today with Charlie Bullen," Hughes said.
"Harbaugh is interested in having him return on the new coordinator's staff. I'm told a return to #NYG is something Bullen is open to as well, although several teams are circling him. Bullen served as the Giants interim DC (after they fired Shane Bowen) and has big supporters in Brian Burns and Abdul Carter, among others.
"The other defensive coaches did not get a meeting. They were thanked and told to clean out their offices."
This type of significant change is common when a new coach takes over. However, with the removal of Abrams, the Giants are clearly pursuing a broader shift that targets not only coaches but also executives.
If this is truly just the start, the Giants' franchise will be operating very differently from its expected operating procedure.
