The New York Jets are officially 0-3 to start the season, and they were hit hard in one major area offensively.

Former Jets head coach Todd Bowles went all out as his Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense made Tyrod Taylor uncomfortable as the Bucs escaped with a narrow victory.

"Quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who made his first start since 2023, was under siege because the Jets were flummoxed by the Bucs' blitz," wrote ESPN's Rich Cimini. "The pass protection was poor, and Taylor didn't help by holding the ball too long at times. He was pressured on 44% of his dropbacks, including a cornerback blitz on a game-changing pick-six late in the first half, and was sacked four times. The Jets were ill-prepared for the Bowles blitz."

Being pressured almost every other play is a recipe for disaster, especially due to the Jets not having the greatest offensive line. Bowles knew New York couldn't handle the pass rush, and his game plan worked to perfection.

There are a few lessons to take away from this from the Jets' perspective. Head coach Aaron Glenn should have been better prepared for a blitz-heavy scheme. Everyone in the league knows the offensive line isn't one of his team's strengths, and it shouldn't have been a surprise to him to see someone take advantage of the weakness.

Now that it has happened, teams are going to try and replicate it. The pressure is now on Glenn to ensure his offensive line is ready to handle it and must start the five lineman who will be able to protect his quarterback the best, whether it is Taylor or when Justin Fields returns.
