Dallas Cowboys running back Javonte Williams put forth an incredible effort in Monday night's primetime win over the Philadelphia Eagles, rushing for 155 yards and a touchdown in the 38-21 victory.

Williams, who recorded career numbers in his first season with the Cowboys in 2025, is on track for yet another career year in 2026.

Williams, a former North Carolina Tar Heels standout, entered the NFL ranks as the Denver Broncos' No. 35 overall pick in the 2021 draft. He spent the first four seasons of his NFL career in Denver, but the Broncos let him walk in free agency after his 2024 campaign.

Williams rushed for a career-high 1,201 yards and 11 touchdowns with the Cowboys in 2025. And now five games into the 2026 season, he has 472 rushing yards and a league-leading eight rushing touchdowns.

During a recent appearance on the "Downs 2 Business" podcast, Williams credited the Cowboys for saving his NFL career — admitting that he considered retirement after his fourth season with the Broncos.

"I was really about to just hang up the cleats," Williams said, via reporter RJ Ochoa. "No disrespect to nobody in Denver or nothing like that, I respect everybody over there, I respect what they got going on. Just coming to Dallas it felt like it's a new awakening. I felt like a rebirth."

"Just leaving there and coming here, the coaches believing in me, everybody just like lifting me up. It kind of felt like UNC all over again. Me just going out there just playing, having fun," he added.

"I just fell in love with the game again. I really had lost love for the game."
