The Jacksonville Jaguars kept up their hot start to the season with a convincing 33-10 win on the road over the Baltimore Ravens Thursday night. Liam Coen's team controlled the game from the opening kickoff, taking a 17-3 lead into halftime before the defense stepped in and put it away. It showed the Jags can win on both sides of the ball, with Trevor Lawrence looking cool, calm, and collected under center, and their defense forcing three turnovers and holding the Ravens to just 227 total yards.

With Thursday's victory, Jacksonville has moved to 6-2 on the season, extending their lead in the AFC South to 3.5 games, having now won four of their last five. The win also moved Coen's career winning percentage as an NFL head coach to .760 (19-6) through his first 25 regular-season games, putting him ahead of two of the most legendary coaches in football history. John Madden sits just behind him at .759 (103-32-7), while Vince Lombardi has a .738 (96-34-6) winning percentage.

Madden coached the Oakland Raiders from 1969 to 1978, winning Super Bowl XI and never recording a losing season. He later became one of the most recognizable television analysts in football and the namesake of the hugely popular Madden NFL video game franchise. Lombardi is equally iconic, having coached the Green Bay Packers to five NFL championships in seven years, including the first two Super Bowls in 1967 and 1968. The Super Bowl trophy is now named after him.

The fact that Coen is already being mentioned in the same breath as those legends speaks to what he's building in Jacksonville. Hired in January 2025, he immediately transformed a team that had gone 4-13 the previous season, leading the Jaguars to a 13-4 record and an AFC South title in his debut season. While last season ended in a first-round playoff loss, Jacksonville has taken another step forward this year and is starting to look like the team to beat in the AFC.

At 6-2, the Jaguars are now tied with the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers for second in the AFC. The Buffalo Bills still hold the lead at 6-1, but have a difficult test against the 6-1 Minnesota Vikings on Monday night. However, the Jaguars are the only one of those teams with five conference wins this season, and they lead the league with a whopping +108 point differential.

Coen still has plenty to prove in the postseason, but the Jags look increasingly like a team ready to make a serious push for the franchise's first Super Bowl.
