New York Giants star wide receiver Malik Nabers sat out of the team's latest practice on Thursday due to a knee injury. However, he's confident it won't sideline him for the Giants Week 9 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

It certainly allows for a sigh of relief as the Giants continue to fend off the rest of the NFC East in first place with a 4-2-1 record. The Dallas Cowboys are in second place at 3-5, Washington Commanders in third at 2-4-1 and Eagles in last at 2-6.

There's no overstating how much Nabers means to New York's offense as he has already racked up 48 receptions for 605 yards and two touchdowns this season.

If Nabers were to ever have to miss any time, the Giants wide receiver corps would become a big concern with rookie Malachi Fields and veterans Darnell Mooney, Charlie Jones and Gunner Olszewski next in line.

The Giants are already without starting quarterback Jaxson Dart for the rest of the season after he suffered a multi-ligament left knee injury in Week 2, so Nabers has and will continue to play a very big role in elevating the play of whoever is at quarterback.

The Giants will issue an official designation for Nabers on Friday, so all eyes will be peeled when that injury report is released.

The No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Nabers has recorded 175 catches for 2,080 yards and 11 touchdowns in his professional career.
