New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo did not participate in practice on Wednesday or Thursday, working off to the side of the field with trainers. He was able to log limited practice participation on Friday, but the team downgraded him to "doubtful" on their final injury report.

Skattebo sustained a hamstring injury at the end of a big run in overtime of Week 7's win over the Houston Texans. Despite having a full week to recover over the Giants' bye, it appears he won't be ready to go for Sunday's Week 9 clash against the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles.

With Tyrone Tracy Jr. on injured reserve with a hamstring injury of his own, the Giants are thin at the running back position. Devin Singletary will serve as the Giants' lead back in Week 9, likely backed up by Greg Desrosiers and Phil Mafah.

After not recording a single touch or carry in Week 6, Skattebo bounced back with a big performance in Week 7 — taking 17 carries for 124 yards and a touchdown.

The Giants are 4-2-1 to begin the 2026 NFL season, leading the NFC East. They can extend their lead in the division with a win over the injury-ridden Eagles on Sunday.
